Module 2: Leadership and Social Determinants of Health

Purpose

This module is intended to develop leadership skills, introduce best practices for working with diverse populations, problem-solving strategies and introduces public health foundational knowledge.

Learning Objectives

What is expected of leaders and what leaders can and should expect from those around them
Knowledge of the local HIV epidemic, including communities disproportionately impacted
Leadership skills, including communication, decision-making in a consensus environment, persuasion, accountability, empowering others, facilitating group process, empathy and compassion
Cultural competency for working with diverse populations
